I've said it before, but my friend Gary Smaby is a real Renaissance Man. When he first told me he was working on a new hearing technology, several years ago, he related to me how that came about because he had his own hearing loss. He said it was probably due to attending too many rock concerts when he was younger -- and now you know: he was right down in front shooting photos.

Didn't know Gary was a photog or band groupie (I mean that kindly). Until a flood wiped out most of my image collection I had backstage shots from the sixties of The Everly Brothers, Animals, Herman's Hermits, Bobby Goldsbourgh, Billy Joe Royal, The Turtles, Lou Christie, The McCoys, and a bunch of others I can't remember (getting old). Being a musician gave me a lot of access.
Fun times.

Great writeup Steve, backstage Gallery looks pretty cool. Thanks for pointing out the Minnesota local Gary Smaby, the first thing I was trying to do was search for local pictures. BSG needs a way to search by venue and geo location.

Cheers!
