Surf music stories – Back in my band days we had two booking agencies. The one in Mpls. was owned by the Trashmen (SurferBird).Boy was I sick of that song.
Saw the Beach Boys at the Hollyhock Ballroom in Hatfield, MN before they had their first hit. It was a “who are these strange guys in their red/pink striped shirts with pointy shoes and funny music guys.”

Venture Capital – The VCs will never do tech (software) here. In the computer tech areas it’s always been hardware oriented just like medical. Why do you think it will ever change? Why are you (and al lot of others pursuing the software areas? As independent consultants, the money is in hardware. The excitement is in software/mobile but not the money. You (Graeme) and I should have stayed in the Med tech area (we were the agency of record for Medtronic way back when)

Circumventing the iPhone store – Go for it if you don’t need any integration with the hardware (accelerator, camera, etc). Or, don’t need smooth scrolling, or specific gestures, or don’t need a lot of things.
