Minnov8 Gang 220 – We Need to Search Your Underwear Drawer

June 8, 2013 By Steve Borsch

We Need to Search Your Underwear Drawer

The biggest story of the week is the release of National Security Agency documents which illustrate the depth and breadth of the surveillance going on in the United States. To say that there has been outrage (finally) and major questions is an understatement. The Gang also is a bit suspicious that the timing of these revelations is a bit suspect—coinciding with President Obama hosting a cybersecurity discussion with China President Xi Jinping—but who knows for certain.

Hosts: Steve Borsch, Tim Elliott and Phil Wilson (Graeme Thickins is off this week).
Music: Rotation by John Gilliat. From the podsafe Music Alley.

Minnov8 Gang 206 – Shake It Like a Polaroid Picture

March 2, 2013 By Steve Borsch

When the group ‘Outkast’ delivered the line in their song “Hey Ya!” encouraging women on the dance floor to, “shake it like a Polaroid picture“—a reference to an old technique used by some photographers to dry the wet Polaroid film by shaking the picture helped it to dry faster—Polaroid put out a press release asking people NOT to wave around today’s Polaroid pictures since they didn’t need to dry them like that anymore.

We sure don’t have to deal with instant photo prints anymore, heh? On this podcast we talk about today’s Polaroid and lament (a bit) the passing of what one of us described as “the Apple of the 1970s”. But since we have on Julio Ojeda-Zapata, the show is quite upbeat as we talk about the latest-and-greatest technologies and hear from a guy who gets to play with most of them before he writes his articles for TwinCities.com on his tech blog or for the St. Paul Pioneer Press newspaper.

Hosts: Steve Borsch, Tim Elliott, Graeme Thickins, Phil Wilson and Julio-Ojeda Zapata.
Music: My Baby Up and Left Me by The Blues Vultures. From the podsafe Music Alley.

Minnov8 Gang 204 – No Signal in the Big House

February 16, 2013 By Steve Borsch

Minnov8 Gang Podcast #204

Changing one’s profile picture anywhere invites Photoshopping abuse and Phil Wilson defaces Steve’s new profile pic. He is, of course, kindly returning the ‘favor’ of Steve basically defacing just about any image of Phil he can find, including a cheesy attempt at humor with this video.

Thankfully we goof off a bit but get in to some serious discussions about tech and innovation moves going on this past week.

Hosts: Steve Borsch, Tim Elliott, Graeme Thickins and Phil Wilson.
Music: Spy Smasher by The High Fidelics. From the podsafe Music Alley.
