Like the women at the
Tim’s “Cool Thing of the Week” inspired this week’s show name and image, but we had a lot more interesting stories to cover and did. Some serious, some not so much.


Our special guest host this week is ace tech reporter, author and a man not bashful about his love of gadgets and scifi, Julio Ojeda-Zapata. Fortunately Julio has little need for his fedora and press pass…or does he?

The biggest story of the past week surrounds Comcast/Xfinity and their merger with Time Warner Cable. Will this place the combined company in a position to wield unprecedented control over the internet pipe in to our homes and businesses?
Don’t panic! Comcast’s Xfinity is setting up home Wifi routers to let the public use your data connection but everything will be OK. In addition, NBC is scaring any-and-all Sochi Olympics attendees to think that, if they even turn on their smartphone or computer and connect to Wifi, they will be instantly hacked. Should you worry?
