Minnov8 Gang 358 – It’s an Eyesore

April 16, 2016 By Steve Borsch

ugly-building_mainThe StarTribune had an article about how as Code 42 heads downtown, 100 Washington Square becomes tech center. The good news? Growing tech companies have a large square-footage building that is catering to their needs. The bad news? Phil is NOT happy about it as he thinks the building is basically butt-ugly.

Hosts: Steve Borsch, Tim Elliott and Phil Wilson.
Music: Giorgio By Moroder by Elektro-Tek under a CC 3.0 License

Minnov8 Gang 357 – De Plane! De Plane!

April 9, 2016 By Steve Borsch

fantasy-island_mainWe’re all serious at the outset of the show talking about Spy planes overhead still watching Minneapolis and the article it’s based on (Spies in the Skies) when Phil pipes up. He exclaims, “De plane! De plane!” referring to a reference that became a meme in the late 1970s from a show called Fantasy Island.

Here is a video on YouTube of the opening of this (at the time) wildly popular show and, at about 37 seconds in, comes de plane reference seemingly everyone used at the time (and some living in the past still do!).  😉

Hosts: Steve Borsch, Tim Elliott and Phil Wilson.

Minnov8 Gang 306 – Minnesota, Land of 10,000 Tech Events

March 28, 2015 By Steve Borsch

Wow! There are an accelerating number of technology events going on in Minnesota, which is both good news and disconcerting. It’s positive since it proves that Minnesota is rapidly becoming a startup and technology hub, and concerning because it is increasingly hard to get to them all!

Hosts: Steve Borsch, Tim Elliott, Graeme Thickins and Phil Wilson.

Minnov8 Gang 305 – Tim’s Lead Underwear

March 21, 2015 By Steve Borsch

tim-lead-underwear_740One of the things we talk about on this week’s show is the danger of RF radiation with connected, wearable devices in contact, or close to, your body. Though I joke on the show about wearing lead underwear (like Tim’s), maybe this is something we should be worried about with our current devices and future wearables? Listen and decide for yourself.
